Department of Tourism organized ‘Wular Festival’ in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district today.
Commissioner Secretary Tourism Sarmad Hafiz was the Chief Guest while besides Director Tourism GN Itoo, many dignitaries were present on the occasion.
“The festival was aimed at creating environmental awareness and promoting watersports and tourism in the area. The festival also focused on empowering people as well as the local fishing communities by providing a platform to showcase their talent.”
Travel Agents Society of Kashmir better known as TASK while welcoming the initiative said that such events and festivals should be organized in future as well to boost up the tourism sector.
TASK members including the president Muhammad Akram Siah, General Secretary Waseem Ahmed Goosani and Joint Secretary Maqsood Ahmed Badyari were also present during the festival.
TASK appreciated the role of Commissioner Secretary and Director Tourism for playing a pivotal rule in giving a fillip to tourism sector in Kashmir Valley.
