Uncapped Faraz Akram, who has featured in 15 first-class, nine List A and four T20 matches, has received a call-up to the 25-man training squad ahead of their tour to Pakistan. The squad also includes experienced names likes Brendan Taylor, Craig Ervine, Sikandar Raza and Sean Williams.
Elton Chigumbura, who last played an ODI for Zimbabwe in 2018 and a T20 in 2019, also finds a place in the squad with pace bowlers Tendai Chatara, Kyle Jarvis and Ryan Burl also marking their presence having recovered from their injuries. Chatara was struggling with a bicep injury which ruled him out of the home Test series against Sri Lanka while Jarvis too missed the second Test with a back injury.
Chamu Chibhabha, who was named limited-overs captain in January this year, will lead the side. The tour will have three ODIs and three T20Is to be played in Pakistan. The ODI series will be part of the ICC ODI Super League will be played on October 30, November 1 and 3 while the T20I series will take place on November 7, 8 and 10 respectively.
