Minority status their top demand
Delegation of Sikh leaders of Kashmir on Sunday met R P Singh who is patron of Gali Pathsala.
They their meet they have come up with their charter of demands including bringing law against Love Jihad in JK, I have forwarded their charter to honourable Home Minister, he said on twitter
Sikh lost members due to their attack. Not only this we are attacked many times by Pakistan Militants in recent times after 1990.
“we have few demands which we request you to kindly address on priority so that large scale migration of Sikhs from Kashmir Valley can be stopped, reads the letter
” By keeping in view the rising forced religious conversion of minority community in the valley, Inter Caste Marriage Act as applicable in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh to prohibit and punish religious conversions promising better lifestyle, divine blessings and impersonation should be implemented in the valley, Sikhs of the Kashmir Valley should be declared as Minority Community whose Chairman should be from Sikh Community. We are only 1.5 Lakhs left with 60000 registered voters from Sikh Community which is spread to 6 districts and 135 villages. Sir important to note we are managing 135 Gurudwaras some of which are historical, as delimitation process is happening and we used to enjoy two reserve seats in Poonch and Baramulla.
Now Poonch has gone to Jammu. We request Union Govt. to kindly reserve two Assembly seats Baramulla and Srinagar/Tral for Kashmiri Sikhs in the House. Sir we have maximum villages in these two districts and we want to bring changes on our democratic strength. As yours goodself is fully aware that the delimitation commission with the Chairperson Justice (retd) Ranjana Prakash Desai is visiting Jammu & Kashmir from July 6 to 9, we expect that the commission should meet with the representatives of the sikh community as stakeholder to listen their concerns/suggestions in the task of delimitation, it adds.
Kindly consider the appointment the micro minorities living in Kashmir for the posts still vacant under Prime Minister Relief package for migrants, of which more than 50% seats are still vacant. 8. We lost 35000 Sikhs in Choora near Baramulla on National Highway. That place should be demarcated and National Monument should be built in that place, letter adds written by all sikh Gurudwara management company.
“Govt. should make it compulsory to introduce Punjabi Language in the study so that Sikhs history can’t be diluted. Sir we have many stories and tales to tell you. It’s becoming impossible for us to stay in such environment here and we request you to kindly make things possible for our stay in the valley,” It adds
“Sir Sikhs from Kashmir welcome CAA and we will be happy if Sikhs/Hindu Community coming to India from any part of the world and stay with us. We will ensure them everything including starting of their livelihood, it further adds
” We request yours goodself kindly look into the above mentioned demand or expectation of the sikh community from the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government by keeping in view the suffering of the sikh community in the valley since last so many decades and its contribution in the national building. Thanking you and obliged,” It adds.
