Karnataka pacer Prasidh Krishna has been added to India’s squad for the fourth Test against England, starting Thursday (September 2). The decision was taken following request from the Indian team management, BCCI said in a statement on the eve of the game.
Prasidh was one of the standby players on the five-Test tour and had been training and travelling with the team since the start of the trip. Uncapped in Tests, Prasidh made his India debut in the home series against England in March this year and has played only three ODIs so far for the country.
Meanwhile, Cricbuzz understands Ravindra Jadeja’s knee injury isn’t a serious cause of concern and the all-rounder will be available for selection. India’s lone spinner used in the series so far, Jadeja hurt his knee in a fielding effort during England’s only innings in the Headingley Test which the hosts won by an innings and 72 runs. Jadeja, though, did bowl and later also batted in India’s second innings following the scare. It was only after the conclusion of the Test, on the fourth morning, that the all-rounder was taken for precautionary scans to determine the extent of damage done.
