A Government School Headmaster, one of the accused in a rice scandal who was evading arrest has been arrested by police in Sumbal area of Bandipora.
61 bags of rice meant for mid-day meals at Middle School Sumbal were recovered from a Tata-Mobile vehicle by Sumbal police in the premises of Middle School.
Pertinently the rice meant for mid-day meals “was transferred from school illegally and the attempt was thwarted by police”.
Three accused were already arrested while the school headmaster was evading arrest.
The headmaster who was evading arrest has been arrested and a case stands already registered and investigation is underway, an official said.
Three accused who had been arrested with regard to his scandal are Muhammad Yousuf Hajam, Firdous Mir and Jafar Hajam while as headmaster has been identified as Syed Sajad.
