ADDC Bandipora sought facts about the case; he will be furnishing report to DC Bandipora: BDO Hajin
Residents of Ajas village in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district Saturday alleged that the public money is openly being looted in the name of development in Halqa Panchayat Ajas-B in connivance with the concerned RDD officials and BDC Chairman Hajin.
A delegation of locals from Ajas apprised a local news gathering agency of their miseries and told that concerned Block Development Chairman Hajin and officials of RDD are hand in glove to loot the government exchequer in the name of development.
The delegation said that Halqa Panchayat Ajas-B is consisting of 4-5 wards but developmental activities are only taking place in the PatuMohalla Ward. They alleged that funds from all four wards have been diverted to PatuMohalla ward as no developmental activity has took place in other words from last two years.
They also alleged that it’s all happening because the incumbent BDC Chairperson is from the same ward, who don’t want the development of other wards because of the political grudges.
They specifically questioned some of works which have been undertaken by the RDD in PatuMohalla ward.
They alleged that the robust drainage from Kandar Chowk to Shalamnaar, which was in good condition has been dismantled and is being constructed afresh when there was no need of it. Similarly, they said that the intact foot bridge was dismantled near Shalamnaar nallah which has been constructed afresh.
They also alleged that some of executed works in the ward aren’t falling under any plan.
“We are not against the development but why is selective development taking place, why are concrete and intacted things which are in very good condition being dismantled to construct them afresh so that the funds are not spend in any ward. Why this injustice, why this discrimination?”, they questioned.
Lastly, the delegation appealed LG Manoj Sinha and other concerned officers to personally intervene into the matter and redress their grievance.
Meanwhile, Block Development Officer (BDO), Hajin, Dr. Murtaza told that he along with ADDC Bandipora inspected the site in Ajas. He said they also called the complainants but received no response.
“The works are selected and approved in Gram Sabha and then after they are being executed,” he said.
Regarding drainage complainant, the BDO said that ADDC, who have been designated as an enquiry officer, visited the site and sought facts about the case from the concerned panchayat people about nomenclature and other things, adding that accordingly the ADDC will furnish the report to DC Bandipora.
