After three decades education policy came to a variation which is the most important variation in NDA government, the policy is considered as revolution in itself here is an overview and summed up points which were issued by government and its illustration in brief.
National education policy(NEP) is considered as a step to revolutionize the education system in India. As per the education policy changes there is an education behind which will directly influence or contribute to government. The the variation in education policy is made after almost three decades. There are some basic things in policy as given below. Mother tongue to be a medium of instruction till fifth grade. Sanskrit to be offered at all school levels and higher education as option, including in three-language formula. Mother tongue is considered as the easiest way to learn the thing effectively at the elementary level and will influence the knowledge gaining capacity of students.School curriculum to be reduced to core concepts. The vocational education will be integrated from class 6th, integration in classes will reduce the stress among the students and they will be able to study with understanding without exam. Less stress means more interest and more gaining capacity. Students will be given increased flexibility and choice of subjects to study, particularly in secondary school – including subjects in physical education, the arts and crafts, and vocational skills.
Aim to educate students mean to make them knowledge full and a skill full developer for the nation so that he could have sense of contribution rather than to run after marks race as it seems a blind competitive education. New education policy (NEP) aim to develop skill development. Report cards will be a comprehensive report on skills and capabilities instead of just marks and statements. Board exams to be based on knowledge application, said Amit Khare, higher education Secretary. There will be a common entrance exams conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to universities and higher education institutions, it will lead students to focus a goal since early stages and will provide continuity in developing proper sense of competition.
“The policy envisages broad based, multi-disciplinary, holistic Under Graduate education with flexible curricula, creative combinations of subjects, integration ofvocational education and multiple entry and exit points with appropriate certification. Under Graduate education can be of 3 or 4 years with multiple exit options and appropriate certification within this period”M. Signal regulator for all education institutions except legal and medical institutions will be the uniform supervision agency to lead. There will be common regulations for both the private and public higher education institutions in the country.As on date, we have different norms for deemed universities, central universities, for different individual standalone institutions. As a matter of fact virtual education is the most important part of our society, online classes and courses are in preference only to make effective education so by this sense new education policy is considered as a revolution More online courses will be developed in regional languages which will not only make development of education but will make multi lingual approach to education . Virtual labs will be developed and a National Educational Technology Forum (NETF) is being created under the new education. The policy include to change the name of ministry of human resource development to ministry of education. In changing the name of ministry government aim to develop education as a separate and measure department of the cabinet so that it could be focused more effectively.
