The Army has captured a Pakistan infiltrator in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir and killed another. Army sources have said that a Pakistani millitant has been captured in Uri.
The army had launched a counter-infiltration operation along the LoC in the Uri sector in Baramulla district on Saturday after noticing suspicious movement, top army officials said.
Sources have said that the Army was able to establish contact with infiltrators at three different locations in the last two days. One Pakistan infiltrator is believed to be dead in the encounter so far while the Army is looking for the others.
Four soldiers have sustained bullet injuries during an exchange of fire between the Army and militants in the Uri sector along the LoC.
On the sidelines of a function at Boniyar in Uri, Lt General Panday told reporters that people shouldn’t get worried by these infiltration attempts or the situation as our troops are alert and prepared to deal with such situations.
Last week, the Army foiled an infiltration bid near the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, killing three militants and recovering a large cache of arms and ammunition.
Earlier, the army had exchanged fire with infiltrators at Gawhalon village in the same sector after soldiers spotted the intruders.(CNS)
