Have got clues about previous killings in city; will nab killers very soon
Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh on Thursday termed the attacks as attempt to damage communal harmony and brotherhood in Kashmir Valley and said that those behind spate of civilian killings would be soon “exposed”.
“This is an attempt to defame local Muslims of Kashmir. Killing innocent civilians including teachers is a move to attack and damage the age-old tradition of communal harmony and brotherhood in Kashmir,” the J&K Police chief said responding to a question, adding, “(Militants are militants) and working at the behest of Pakistani handlers.
Talking to reporters outside the Government Boys Higher Secondary School Sangam, Eidgah, Srinagar, the DGP said that killing of innocent civilians reflects “frustration and barbarism.”
He said killing innocents is a conspiracy to “target local ethos and values” which will be defeated by the police and people collectively.
Asked if school staff revealed anything about those carried out the attack, the DGP said, “The staff is in fear, their colleagues have been targeted. Rest police is working on it and very soon we will expose them.”
