Bangladesh Cricket Board CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury confirmed on Monday that batting consultant Jon Lewis’s contract had been extended until the end of the Sri Lanka Tour.
“We have extended his contract till the Sri Lanka tour as we are having back-to-back series. Afterwards, we will decide our next course of action,” BCB Chief Executive Officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury told reporters on Monday.
BCB appointed Lewis as their batting coach for their two bilateral series respectively against West Indies and New Zealand after Craig McMillan couldn’t join the team due to personal reasons. McMillan had been appointed after the post went vacant following the resignation of Neil McKenzie.
At that point, BCB turned to Lewis, who had had a stint in a similar capacity with Sri Lanka earlier while also been linked to take the batting coach role of England after working with the one-day team ahead of their series against Ireland in August 2020.
Lewis stepped in as Durham’s head coach after Geoff Cook fell ill in 2013 and he led the side to Championship victory.
