Jammu and Kashmir Innovative Foundation for Transforming Society(JKIFTS) on Friday awarded Faheem Ul Islam, a young Kashmiri writer with the “Best Young Author Award”.Hailing from Achan village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, Faheem Ul Islam is currently pursuing his bachelor’s honours degree in political science from department of political sciences , Aligarh Muslim University, Uttar Pradesh, India.
He is the author of book “THE MIDNIGHT SILENCE” and a co-author of multiple anthologies. Besides he writes columns in both English and Urdu languages and his write-ups make a place in local dailies as well as in international newspapers and magazines.”I believe writing is a great weapon to reach out people to address them in a very noble way especially to youngesters because our future lies in their hands. As the famous saying goes like “Pen is mightier than sword”, so I choosed this pious weapon to mould the society in a better way.
Besides, I found it an honour to be the friend of pen and paper as it is the job of highly amazing creative people who let people read and introspect so that the society can get the bright future”, Faheem said in an interview with JKIFTS Council Board.For his literary, philontrophic and humanitarian works he has been awarded by reputed organizations and institutions like INDIAN BOOK OF RECORDS — INDIAN EXCELLENCY AWARD & INDIAN HUMANITARIAN AWARD. Besides he has been awarded as the “Student of the Year Award” by Jamia Sirajul Uloom Imamsahib Shopian in 2017 including other awards. He is also associated with many reputed organizations.
