JKAACL has condoled demise of veteran writer, scholar, translator,poet and educationist Ghulam Nabi Nike Shahbaz Rajourvi, who breathed his last today at his native village Behrote Rajouri.
In this connection, a condolence meeting was held at Academy Secretariat here which was presided over by Secretary JKAACL, Mr. Munir-ul-Islam, while senior writer, poet and former D.G. Accounts and Treasuries Wali Mohammed Aseer Kishtwari and Chief Editor JKAACL, Mr. M. Ashraf Tak were also present in the presidium. Two minute silence was observed to pay respects to the departed soul.
The speakers who include Dr. Mirza Farooq Anwar, Dr. Javaid Rahi and Dr. Shahnawaz paid their floral tributes and highlighted life and contribution of Shahbaz Rajourvi. Senior Vice-president of Adbi Markaz Kamraz also spoke on the occasion and remembered that Shahbaz Rajourvi has been Vice-president of Adbi Markaz Kamraz for a long time, as well.
In his presidential remarks, Secretary JKAACL Mr. Munir-ul-Islam paid tributes to the scholarly vision and handwork done by Shahbaz Rajourvi
for promotion and development of various languages including Urdu, Kashmiri, Gojri and Pahari. It was announced that JKAACL will organize
a tributary function in the month of February 2021 to highlight life and contribution of Shahbaz Rajourvi. A number of writers and Academy staff were present and paid their tributes.
