The Jammu and Kashmir Coordination Committee (JKCC), an amalgam of apex trade, industry, tourism, travel, horticulture chambers and civil society formations, has lambasted the state government for its complicity in the unabated blood bath unleashed by government forces on the civilian population in Kashmir.
In a meeting of JKCC, the members expressed their serious concern over the continued violence perpetrated by the government forces on hapless civilians that has so far consumed tens of thousands of precious lives particularly that of youth in their teens and twenties.
The members observed that our educated youngsters have been pushed to the wall through extreme repression and tyranny that forces them to take up arms against one of the mightiest armies of the world.
It is no bravery on the part of this army to kill these untrained boys in cold blood and destroy the houses they are holed in. The members expressed their grief over killing of more than 22 boys besides causing injury to hundreds in South Kashmir during past one week.
JKCC members accused the state government to be working on an agenda which is aimed at to suppress the rightful peoples’ movement through coercive measures rather than resolving the issue peacefully on the table.
The members warned the state chief minister and her other colleagues in the present dispensation that history will judge and remember them as mean collaborators to the genocide of Kashmiri Muslims perpetrated by the forces with an absolute impunity.
Not only that the government forces have been afforded license to kill but they are also being rewarded both monetarily as well as through promotions for such killings, observed the members, adding that the state chief minister stands fully responsible for approving this mechanism in the capacity of the Head of the unified command.
JKCC has conveyed its deep regrets to the international community for maintaining a criminal silence over the policy of death and destruction adopted by Government of India to muzzle the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The world is in know of the fact that the issue of J&K stands unresolved and is pending in the UN security Council for past 7 decades. The saner voices in the world need to come forward to urge upon GOI to stop brutalities and other human rights violations unleashed by it in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
JKCC also condemned the Jammu Bar Association and other organization for bringing in collective shame for the people of the three districts of Jammu in general and to their profession in particular by giving a call for Jammu bandh in support of the rapists and murderers of 8-year old child Asifa.
The JKCC demands immediate sacking of two ministers namely Chander Prakash Ganga and Lal Singh for having overtly and covertly supported the perpetrates of this heinous crime. The members vowed not to rest till the innocent child received the justice.
