Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that the world after covid-19 is going to be very different in which technology will play the biggest role and that will be a huge force for the success of the Self-Reliant India Campaign.
Modi was addressing the 51st annual convocation ceremony of the Indian Institute of Technology, (IIT) Delhi through video conference as the chief guest. He also said on the occasion that globalization is important but at the same time self-reliance is equally important.
Modi said in his address, ‘This crisis of Corona has brought a big change in the world. The world after covid-19 is going to be very different and technology will play the biggest role in it.
The Prime Minister said that a year ago no one would have thought that important meetings and big events would be done through digital medium but now the nature of all these have changed. He said, ‘This is a huge force for the success of the Self-Reliant India Campaign. Corona has taught the world one more thing. Globalization is important but at the same time self-sufficiency is equally important.
He said that the self-sufficient Bharat Abhiyan is an important campaign for the youth of the country and technocrats to give many new opportunities to the world of technology.
The Prime Minister said that technology has made the services easier to reach inaccessible places and has reduced the scope of corruption. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Minister of State for Education Sanjay Dhotre were also present on the occasion. The convocation conferred degrees on more than 2,000 undergraduate students, including PhD, M Tech, Masters of Design, MBA and BTech students.
The Prime Minister told the students pursuing the degree, “The country will give you the ease of doing business and work to give a convenient life to the countrymen.” He said that focus on quality, never compromise and do your innovative work on a large scale.
