With continuous hue and cry by the Opposition parties over the BJP-led government’s decision of demonetisation that was carried out last year, one shouldn’t make early comments but wait for the Modi government’s completion of the five-term. The central government should be given an adequate time to work and only after that should people evaluate its performance. There is a mounting criticism of the government the opposition which allege that the BJP government has failed to bring “achhe din” as promised by the party during its 2014 general election campaign. Besides, they decry the GST move implemented early this year. It is a fact that the alliance partners did not allow the central government to be decisive in the past but the BJP government, which has majority, has taken more than 800 decisions in its three years. No doubt, there could be some short-term hitches due to these decisions, but everybody should wait till the proper time; may be, as the government says, the moves will yield huge benefits in the long-run. Only time will tell whether the Modi-government translates its words into actions or bury the promises under carpet.
