This means that now all government and private hospitals will have to follow the instructions of the Union Ministry of Health and the Indian Council of Medical Research to investigate and treat this disease.
The government has said in its directive, “All government and private hospitals are instructed to report all suspected and confirmed cases of black fungus through the District level Chief Medical Officer under the Department of Health and Integrated Disease Surveillance Program. Send it to the surveillance system. “
The ministry has said that due to its infection, covid-19 patients are facing prolonged illness and even their deaths.
The ministry said in a letter, “In recent times, a new challenge has come up in the form of fungal infections called Mucharamycosis. Especially in covid-19 patients from many states who are on steroid therapy and whose sugar is uncontrolled , Its cases have been reported. “
Love Aggarwal, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Health, has written in a letter that the treatment of this fungal infection requires the involvement of many medical experts – eye surgeons, neurosurgeons, general surgeons, dental surgeons and ENT specialists. In addition, the treatment of amphotericin B injection of anti-fungal medicine is also needed.
