In the official documents, the map of Jammu and Kashmir has been included along with the portion falling towards India as well as Pakistan administrated Kashmir. However, an inquiry report has been posted on the government’s own website for the past several days, on which the portion of Kashmir crossing the LoC was marked as Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
A website had a report wherein the term “Azad Jammu and Kashmir” was used. The report, which carried a map that identified a region as “Azad Jammu and Kashmir”, was on the website of the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), News website Groundreport.in reported.
It has been reported that a report had been posted on the website of the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) till a few days back, referring to the investigation of serious incidents up to July 2019. During the time a flight of Vistara Airlines flying from Srinagar to Jammu was diverted due to bad weather. The flight landed at Amritsar Airport with 460 kg of fuel. However, during the landing, the pilot complained to the Air Traffic Control of less fuel in emergency. Only then did the AAIB conduct the investigation and put its final report on the website.
In the same report, the map that AAIB had put, marked Jammu and Kashmir across the LoC as Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Under the same picture was written that the route taken by Vistara Aircraft.
Captain Amit Singh, an air safety expert, had tweeted the said map showing a region as “Azad Jammu and Kashmir” late on Saturday night. “Heads should roll for this blunder, don’t you agree?” Singh had tweeted.
The report was later withdrawn and a new test report was replaced with a corrected map. Ministry spokesperson said that there was something wrong with the report, which has been rectified. ( PTK )
