The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has decried the sluggish and non-responsive attitude of the authorities in dealing with the aftermath of heavy snowfall in Charar e Sharief constituency of Budgam.

In a statement issued here , party General secretary G N Lone Hanjura said that several days after the massive snowfall, many areas of Charar e Sharief still remain cut off, water and power supply is yet to be restored because of which people are facing severe crisis.

” It has been many days since the snowfall but scores of areas in Charar e Sharief remain snowbound and the roads are blocked. People are facing hardships and are not able to move even for essential purposes. water and power supply hasn`t been restored yet, ” Hanjura said.

” Areas like Darwan Nowgam, Chalyan Chuntinar, Braripathri, Fresdab, Watlura, Mohandpora, Shankerpora, Karapora, Batawader, Butkhod are the worst hit and are crying for immediate attention of the authority, ” he added.
