Army was called in Kishtwar town where curfew has been imposed following the attack on an RSS leader that left him injured and his personal security officer dead on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana said that army has been called to carry out a flag march while curfew was imposed soon after the incident to prevent any law and order disturbance, reported news agency.
“After being operated upon at the hospital, Chandrakant Singh has been airlifted in a special chopper to GMC Jammu,” the DC was quoted .
A police official said that unidentified gunmen opened fire on RSS leader Chandrakant Singh and his security guard at the district hospital Kishtwar.
Singh, he said, was critically injured in the attack while his security guard died.
Reportedly, the unknown gunmen have also decamped with the service rifle of the slain policeman.( GNS )
