Tarique said: “This is my first visit to Kashmir. I feel grateful about coming here and directing a theatre workshop, the best way to visit Kashmir for me.”
He added: “The opportunity to meet people from this part of the world and sharing the rehearsal space will give way to a great experience and learning.”
He further: “For me conducting workshops for these aspiring actors is a job, in which I tell them what I have learnt all these years and in return learn from them. They may not know that I learnt from their expressions, the way they talk, move etc. but I can use it for my character portrayal in my field, Theatre.”
Idrees, one of the participants said: “The first day of the workshop was full of fun, entertainment and seriousness too. We learnt about the exercises to be done before taking up the theatre field. It is one of the rare opportunities to learn about theatre. We will not have learned what we learned today even if you go to NSD or Whistling Woods like institutes. Being a non-theatre person or having no connection with it, I learnt a lot in a single day. I am thankful to ACT, who provided this opportunity in our own city”
Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan, Chairman & Creative Director of Actors’ Creative Theatre (ACT) said “I am very happy to organise such activities of performing Arts in my own region. It gives aspiring theatre Artists a chance to learn more about this art. I will continue to take such initiatives in future as well. He further said that he will tirelessly work to continue to promote all the forms of Art and Culture in Kashmir. This gives me satisfaction
