The spiritual leader and founder of Art of Living Foundation Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on Tuesday advised people planning for Amarnath Yatra to “reconsider their travel plans” in wake of inclement weather this year.
Sri Sri who is also the present board member of Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) said: “In the wake of recent tragedies, pilgrims are advised to postpone their Amarnath Yatra to next year. Heavy rains and landslides have disrupted both the routes to the holy cave and have thus posed serious challenges for the Yatris.”
Sri Sri also said: “Despite the best efforts of the chairman of the Amarnath Shrine Board Governor N N Vohra, the army, and the Border Security Forces, it is unlikely that the roads will become suitable for travel in the near future”.
“Pilgrims who have reached already are facing extreme difficulties and it is advised that those planning for Shri Amarnath Yatra reconsider their travel plans and invoke Bholenath through meditation and prayer from where they are,” said Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who’s also a member of Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).
