Train service remains suspended in Kashmir for third straight day

Train service remained suspended for the third consecutive day on Monday in the Kashmir valley, where Joint Resistance Leadership – an amalgam of separatist outfits – has called for a general strike against the killing of five militants and a civilian by the forces in clashes in Kulgam district.
A fresh advisory was received last night to suspend train service in the valley, reports quoted a senior railway official as having said.
He said no train will chug on Budgam-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region for the third day on Monday.
Similarly no train will on Srinagar-Budgam and Baramulla in north Kashmir.
The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik has called for a general strike today against the Kulgam killings.
