New Delhi September 29 :Indian troops may have carried out a Surgical Strike-type operation against Pakistan across the border to avenge the brutal killing of a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan a few days ago. Home Minister Rajnath Singh has given indications that Indian forces have done ‘something big’ but stopped short of giving details about the probable military action.
“Hamare BSF ka ek jawan, abhi uske saath jis tarike se badsalooki ki hai Pakistan ne, shayad aapne dekha hoga. Kuch hua hai, main bataoonga nahi. Hua hai, theek thaak hua hai, vishwaas rakhna bahut theek thaak hua hai, 2-3 din pehle. Aur aage bhi dekhiega kya hoga (You must be aware of what they did with our BSF jawan…something big has happened. I won’t reveal now. Trust me, something big happened 2-3 days ago. Action will continue in future also),” Rajnath said while addressing a gathering in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar.
Rajnath Singh’s statement coincided with outgoing BSF Director General (DG) KK Sharma remarks that the force would take strong retaliatory action against Pakistan.
Sharma also pointed out that the BSF was witnessing a “more aggressive stance” of the opponent along the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir after Imran Khan took over as the prime minister of Pakistan.
Sharma said the BSF has given a befitting reply and caused more damage on the Pakistan side than ever before.
“The BSF has given a very tough and befitting reply and caused much more damage on the other side in the past. We will do the same again. In this case, it was very important for us to retrieve the body first and then think of something else. We will see in the near future, we will do something,” he said.
