The films from different States as well as a film from foreign country were screened on the sixth day of ‘Kashmir World Film Festival’ (KWFF) at Tagore Hall here.
The festival is being presented by Zee TV and Zee Cinema networks and J& K Tourism is the title sponsor.
Nepali (Rowing Against The Flow), two Bengali films (Shortcut and Tin Lakhonir Kahini), Marathi (Happy Birthday) and Malayalam (Eye Test) were screened on Sunday. The other six screened films include MixTape (Hindi/ Urdu), Beti Ki Pukar (Hindi/English), Alisa (Hindi), Sabbah The Hope (English/ Urdu), A Delicate Weave (Hindi Kuchi / Sindi) and Turup (Hindi).
It is for the first time that such films have been screened on a big screen in the valley catering massive rush of students, film buffs and others.
The festival will also screen Bollywood film Sargoshiyan directed by Imran Khan and completely shot in Kashmir, on its last day. In the first edition of the festival, the organizers had screened Bollywood films Do Bigha Zameen, Guide, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Dangal.
In the morning session, veteran filmmaker Arunaraje Patil held a workshop class for the students of various colleges, Universities and film buffs. She did some practical exercises on acting and taught them about the different segments of acting.
Festival Director Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan said: “Such films need to be screened and if not they will go unrecognized and will die a silent death” “I believe this will be the death of the talent and hard work,” Khan added.
