The Pakistani Parliament on Monday unanimously adopted a resolution condemning “state atrocities” in Kashmir.
As reported by Pakistan based Newspaper, the resolution was moved by Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Ali Aman Gandapur in the Pakistan National Assembly.
“This house condemns Indian atrocities and aggression in Kashmir,” the resolution read.
“The National Assembly urged the international community for the expedited formation of the commission of Inquiry to investigate the gross human rights violations in Kashmir as recommended by the office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights,” the resolution moved by the Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Amin Khan Gandapur said.
“This House reaffirms its solidarity and commitment to the people of Kashmir in their just struggle for their right to self-determination and reiterates its continuing political, moral and diplomatic support for the just cause in line with UN Security Council resolutions,” the resolution read.
Last week, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan condemned the killings in Kashmir. “It is time India realised it must move to resolve the Kashmir dispute through dialogue in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people,” Khan had tweeted. (PTK)
