Mushtaq Kak, Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee and senior theatre and film artist has been invited by Madhya Pradesh School of Drama to present scene works on folk culture of Jammu and Kashmir with the students of the school.
Kak , who is a former director Shree Ram Centre for Performing Arts will also preside over classroom theatre production process and will deliver series of lectures on variegated nuances of making of a drama.
Earlier in 2017, at Global Culture Summit at Abu Dhabi, Mushtaq was one the leading Indian theatrist whose three plays were screened and witnessed by representatives of 80 countries in the summit.
The event was hosted by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority and presented in conjunction with publishers of Foreign Policy Magazine The FP Group, Washington and TCP Ventures, New York.
He was also one of the eminent members of the screening committee of Theatre Olympiad 8, an international theatre festival organized by Culture Department, government of India and National School of Drama.
An ace exponent of theatre workshops, Kak is a regular visiting faculty to many theatre events across the nation is been invited by majority schools and institutes of drama for discourse on various theatrical subjects.
Besides , he is the only film actor of the state in Bollywood who has worked in nearly 20 films , five of which are presently on the floor.
In his novel initiative towards theatre in the state, kak is designing a mega –theatrical festival aimed at eulogizing the iconic legends of the state which will be long drawn exercise for participating actors on different forums.
In his endeavour to disseminate his skills in theater to the new generation , Kak is also soon starting acting course in theatre which will go long way in benefitting the youth of the state .
