SRINAGAR, FEB 22 : Union minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said the Centre will not compromise on the safety and security of the Kashmiri youth.
In an interview with a national TV Rajnath said, “Kashmir aur Kashmiri hamare the, hai aur rahenge (Kashmir and Kashmiris have and will remain ours). I can assure that the country will not compromise on the safety of the Kashmiri youth”.
He added that, “I can assure nation right now is that under PM Modi’s rule, we will not break your trust”.
He said, “Jab mein Srinagar gaya tha tab maine kehe diya tha jisko Pakistan se paisa milta hai, jiski Pakistan se mili bhagat hai aise sare logo ki security ko review kiya jana chahiye aur vaha security review kar rahi hai, state government review kar rahi hai.”
(“When I went to Srinagar, I had said that those who get money from Pakistan and are involved with them, their security will be reviewed and we are reviewing their security, the state government is reviewing the security”).
He said, “Hum ye separatism chalne nahi denge, hume isse kisi bhi surat mein swikar nahi karenge, mein do tuk shabdo mein kehena chahta hu. Nahi chalegi, Separatism nahi chalega Kashmir mein. Meine kehe diya na, nahi chalega.”
(We won’t let this separatism function, we will not accept this at any cost, I would like to say it sternly. Separatism won’t work in Kashmir, I have said it.)
“Kashmir bharat mein tha, hai, aur rahega, duniya ki koi takat usse alag nahi kar sakti,” he added.
Rajnath added that soon after the attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama, he asked the security agencies to protect Kashmiri youth all over the country.
Along with the Hurriyat leaders, the security of 155 political persons and activists was withdrawn, who did not require the security provided to them based on their threat assessment and activities. This includes Shah Faesal, who resigned from the IAS and Wahid Parray.
With this decision, over 1000 police personnel and over 100 vehicles are freed to do regular police work.
