Srinagar, July, 11, 2018:
J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Radio Kashmir Srinagar Tuesday organized an interactive session with renowned theatre, TV and Radio actor, Shadi Lal Koul.
The session held under Naamwar a joint venture of RK-JKAACL – wasn among others attended by Shabir Mujahid, Mushtaq Bala, Mehraj-ud-Din, Salamudin Bajad, GR Hasrat Gadda, Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, Shahid Hussain Farooqi, Gulshan Badrani, Inayat Gul Gh. Nabi Mir; Akhter Hussain; and Shabnum Tilgami. Welcoming the actor on Naamwar, Secretary JKAACL, Dr Aziz Hajini said that the organisers were privileged to have eminent persons like Shadi Lal Koul in their monthly interactive series Naamwar.
“Naamwar has purposely been started to provide avenues of interaction with eminent but unsung personalities like Koul,” he said. Addressing the session, Koul said that felicitation by the organizers comprising JKAACL and Radio Kashmir – proves that there are individuals and organizations who recognize contribution of unsung heroes and reward them.
Responding to the queries of audience Koul said that he was largely satisfied with his work which went on to bag him several awards from eminent institutions like JKAACL. Earlier eminent actor-director, Ayash Arif read an in-depth paper on life and works of Shadi Lal Koul amid applause from the audience.
Sayed Humayun Qaisar, Station Director, Radio Kashmir, Srinagar thanked Shadi Lal for his time and his insightful interaction with the members of audience. As a token of affection the organizers presented a shawl and a citation to Shadi Lal Koul. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by broadcaster Rashid Nizami. The programme was coordinated by Deputy Secretary, JKAACL, Syed Shakeel-ur-Rehman.
