IGP Kashmir holds security review meeting in Srinagar

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, SP Pani on Saturday held a meeting to review the preparedness and security arrangements in place for August 15 functions.

The meeting was attended by all the territorial officers of the District Srinagar, said a spokesman.

He said the IGP took a detailed review of the security arrangement laid out around the venue of the I-day function in the city.

He was also briefed about the security measures adopted in the other areas of the city for ensuring the smooth conduct of the August 15 functions.

“IGP directed the officers to ensure that foolproof security measures are in place while stressing on the human friendly approach towards policing in dealing with the public on roads,” said the spokesman.

He said Pani has requested the public for cooperation to ensure smooth passage of the function being held on August 15.
