Death toll mounts to 11 in Ramban road accident

The death toll in the tragic road accident in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir has reached 11 with five injured succumbing at a health facility on Saturday.

The deceased include two women and a child.

CMO Ramban, Dr S D KHAN confirmed ten deaths in the accident. “All ten were brought dead to DH Ramban,” he said.

An official said that a minor who was being airlifted to Jammu also succumbed.

The accident took place when a cab carrying passengers from Chaderkote to Rajgarh rolled down into over 500-feet-deep gorge near Kunda nallah in Ramban at 10:30 am, an official said.

Rajgarh is a far flung tehsil in Ramban district and is linked with the Jammu-Srinagar highway through a link road.
