Army soldier critically injured as India, Pakistan trade fire along LoC in Rajouri

An army soldier was critically injured after the armies of India and Pakistan traded fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.

Sources said that the soldier was wounded in the ceasefire violation. He was rushed to Udhampur hospital for treatment.

“Today morning, CFV in Noushera Sector at about 10:30 hours. Enemy opened up Small Arms fire leading to injury to one soldier. The injured is out of danger & has been evacuated to command Hospital Udhampur,” said an army spokesman.

An official said that Pakistan army fired at Indian posts in Nowshera area of Rajouri today morning. The Indian army retaliated effectively, he said.

The exchange of fire took place when the Chief Minister of Haryana was taking part in a function in Bareri village of Nowshera, few miles from the LoC.
